A kids' fishing clinic brings young anglers to the water to learn the basics in a friendly, low-pressure morning at the lake. A perfect add-on to the one-perfect-day plan for families.
The lake is easy on little kids kept close to shore (there's no designated swim beach or lifeguard, and the water is snowmelt-cold — more). While you're here, the free, self-guided Tour of Carvings is a hit with kids. Adults fishing alongside will need a Colorado license and PRID permit (permits).
