The short version

A therapist you can see from the lake

Jeree Mead is the therapist behind Strength in Relations Therapy, LLC, with more than 15 years helping individuals and families work through trauma, grief, substance use, depression, anxiety, and relationship and family conflict. Her approach is guided by compassion and a direct understanding of trauma and recovery — “therapy that meets people where they are.”

She works entirely by secure video, so neighbors around Vallecito and the Pine River valley can see a therapist without the long drive over the hill — with evening and weekend openings, insurance and Medicaid accepted, and a free 15-minute consultation to see if it's a good fit.

How therapy works with Jeree

Flexible, evidence-based, and yours

Jeree draws on a range of evidence-based approaches — Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused and person-centered work, motivational interviewing, play therapy, and more — and blends them to fit the person in front of her. In her words, “therapy is flexible; it meets people where they are and moves alongside them, providing encouragement, understanding, and guidance.”

A typical first session is a relaxed conversation: what you're experiencing, what you'd like to be different, and a simple plan for getting there. No pressure, and no need to have it all figured out before you reach out. Christian counseling is available on request, and Jeree's practice is affirming of all clients.

Why telehealth makes sense here

Care that reaches the valley

Good mental-health care can be hard to reach when you live up the lake — the nearest offices are a drive into Durango, often with a wait. Because Jeree practices entirely by secure video, anyone in Colorado can meet with her from home, on a schedule that includes some evenings and weekends. For full-time residents and second-home families alike, that means real support without rearranging your whole day.

Note: Jeree is a Denver-area provider serving Colorado clients online. We've featured her here because the lake community asked for easier access to counseling — not because she has an office at Vallecito.
